Every...Things are pretty much the same, everywhere. Everyone is a paycheck and an emergency away from homelessness. Women, girls and runaway kids are forced to trade their bodies for food and shelter, it's become the norm. The so-called 'problems' the 1% face are nothing compared to the real-life problems most everyone I know face. There's no comparison. Others suffer from middle class amnesia, not remembering or choosing not to remember what it was like when they were struggling; Which doesn't help the lower class, because they then become scapegoats for their own demise. No one is talking to anyone, everyone blames everybody, nothing gets solved by anyone, because they all think it's someone else's job to fix things. So, everyone thinks someone should be doing something, but - nobody is doing anything, because they think someone else is doing something for someone, meanwhile - no one is doing anything. It's one big, finger-pointing, blame game we're all playing, that no one can win. It's disheartening to me, as a homeless and housing advocate that residents in each state think they're the only ones affected by violations of Fair Housing, a dearth of legal recourse, slumlord abuse, lack of affordable housing funds and oversight; When, in reality - it's happening all across the country, in every State, even in Canada, the UK, Ireland etc...
